Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a rare type of cancer that affects your lymphatic system. It affects cells of the lymphatic system whereby they multiply uncontrollably and may extend to areas outside the lymphatic system. • You feel full or experience pain beneath the ribs caused by inflamed spleen or liver.
• Coughing, chest pains, or problems associated with breathing can be caused due to inflamed lymph nodes of the chest.
• Upon drinking alcohol, your lymph nodes may develop pain.

Although this condition can affect anyone, it is found to affect males more, from their early teens up to middle age and those past age fifty years. The exact cause for Hodgkin’s lymphoma remains unknown.

Besides age, heredity and an undermined immune system are some of the other risk factors. A history of Epstein Barr virus infection and long term use of growth hormones may also increase one’s risks.

Detected early, an affected person’s chances of a complete recovery and prolonged survival rate become bright.
