Vaccination Schedule

A vaccination schedule is a series of vaccinations administered at varying intervals. These are also knownVaccination Schedule is Series of Vaccines given to the Child as immunization schedule in some countries.

Most vaccines require more than one dosage to be effective over time. Multiple doses of the same vaccine help in aiding adequate immune response or to create a strong response that otherwise weaken over a period of time.

This can be seen in some vaccination doses that are repeated every three or five years. Vaccine schedules are developed by government or private health agencies to achieve effectiveness involving required vaccines.

These can be location specific such as flu vaccinations that may be required where outbreaks occur every season.

Some areas follow a more complicated vaccine schedule with addition of new types of vaccines over previous ones. Nonetheless, it is more likely that every country has its own vaccination program schedule.

Infant’s vaccination schedule differs from that of a childhood immunization schedule. Additionally, vaccination schedule may differ for country and locality. Consult your physician for a vaccination schedule specific to your locality.

A sample of generalized vaccination schedule for children in USA is presented below to make you familiar and give you a fair idea about a schedule with abbreviated vaccine names.

Here is an Infant’s Vaccination Schedule:

Immunization Schedule

The vaccinations given to small infants or babies are also called immunizations. These immunizations create resistance in infants against contagious diseases and infections.

Infants possess some inbuilt immunity that they receive from their mother and through breast feeding. This is replaced gradually as the infant’s own immunity starts to develop.

Immunizing your child can give added protection against disease that can prove fatal. Following immunization, it is normal for your baby to develop a small lump or blister at the site of injection which breaks up in due time with a white discharge.

A mild round of fever, cold or diarrhea should not discourage you from immunizing your child as the benefits far outweigh these small impediments.

Name of Different Vaccines:

  • Tetanus vaccination
  • Chickenpox vaccination
  • Polio vaccination
  • Influenza vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination
  • Measles vaccination
  • Meningococcal vaccination
  • Pneumococcal vaccination
  • Yellow Fever vaccination
  • Zoster vaccination

Immunization doses have to be taken on time but in case your child happens to miss a scheduled dose you can consult with your physician for further advice.
